travel .. travel.. always travel..

i need a holiday. period.

i know.. i know.. i just came back (just??? 1 month is long enough!!)

going through my wish list.. it's either :

1. i've ran out of (read : cheap) destination. hmm... cannot be la. but then, bangkok is already off limit. done the amazing siem reap. bali? again? the land of Java..? heh. been there.. done that. other asean countries just does not appeal to caveman. which leads to reason 2. and 3.

2. the singletons are non existent. the wife's club is amazingly busy. yes, i'm super busy too. and we have to arrange with the hubbies. in my case i can always go without.. but then my case is exceptional *LOL* so that leaves to reason 3.

3. my travel mate is now caveman. he hasn't been able to travel much due to his work. yes, travelling is his job.. but not when you're stuck in the engine room.. not knowing you are actually in Miami. and then in Rotterdam. and still have not seen the daylight. sad. you bet. so it's my job to take him around. bring out the globe trotter in him. problem is.. he doesn't back pack. he doesn't comprise bad hotels (i can sleep without a roof even). he cringe at the thought of public buses, trains and what have yous. shutter buses / coach are acceptable. huarghh!! and he doesn't plan. i do. see how stressful a vacation could be? you bet.

some of my friends already made holiday plans for 2009. i know a birdie flying to melbourne in june (i h.a.t.e U!!).. a bali family trip in march (or maybe boracay) .. india in january (i sooo hate u timtim!!) tons of BDO trip (oh yea. caveman is not keen on shopping holidays *SOBS*)..

i saw the show 1000 Places to See Before You Die.. taken from the book by Patricia Schultz. the couple was to visit all 1000 places.. for their honeymoon! gile best!

i dunno la.. sometimes i think it's not fair for me to go on holidays in 2009. given the family situation (ailing grandmother, for instance) .. and the recently decided sabbatical in 2009.. plus.. a 2009 MAJOR project caveman & i are engaging.

but hei... we all need a break kan?

maybe Hutan Belum? Melaka? Penang & Cameron Highlands? hee..
