wonder la la

since we haven't had any post on my home since.. err.. forever.. i thought i'd start posting again. since it is going to be 2011 soon.. and m pretty much sick of the current look of my home. although it is lovely.. but after 2 years.. sigh.. a change would be good.

and since we're all in this alice in wonderland crave..(or at least i am).. i thought i'd change the interior to go with the theme. but next year la.. this year my budget has depleted. deficit to be more precise. heheh!

going polka!

Oh how i love polkadots. And its growing on hannah too. But m sure most babies love polkadots as they recognizes its shape.

Anyways.. My house is practically a polkadot&baroque museum. But the only thing i have not ventured into is a polkadot curtain. Trust me, they are cute. Will upload some photos soon (blogging via cell has its disadvantages).

These lovely polkadots material are from kamdar. However, they are clothes fabric (japanese cotton) & my mom insisted i should not use them as curtains.

Ces. Pillowcases maybe? Hehe. Nak jugaakkkk tuuu...

that stinks!!

almost everything stinks to me these days.. well ... more of at night. so, come 6pm.. my nose turned hyper sensitive and everything is just.. BUSUUKK!!! even my uber yumms bedroom. weird? no. its plain wild hormones..

its hormones too that have been blocking my creative side.. not that i have many la.. but still.. the wedding & mushroom was a big project kan.. teehee! a few days ago i found a bottle of my teddy tales english rose essential oil in one of the wedding boxes.. and decided to give it a go at the aromatheraphy burner majigy..

hee... it worked like wonders.. now everything smells lovely again *relief*

now i just need to find more of these english rose oils.. i know i bought almost 8 bottles of them for the wedding (for the mini pillows we made for as the nikah door gift).. but i could only find 1. i know we only used up 2. hmmm... and its finishing up fast too.. damn. this could get pricey... but it worked better then my electric air freshner / battery operated ones.

and why english rose? heh. baru la bau bililk pengantin mate!

i know i haven't been "quality blogging" lately.. well.. can you blame me? the current 1st trimester in thing is the migraine. the one i feared most. and because i wasn't allowed to take my migraine meds.. there's nothing i could do but brave it all off. blergh.

so today i got my day off (again). so i thought i update my peeps on our tiny garden. apart from the mushroom, the garden was an abandoned project since i found out i was preggers. caveman totally lost his interest in the garden due to his "dad's pregnancy symptom". he had it all.. morning sickness... loss of appetite.. then finding it again with cravings.. fatigue.. teehee. so many of our new plants were left in their black plastic bags, since we bought them.

but what's blooming just right was our hydrangeas & sunflowers *wee*

m an avid DIYer.. just like my dad. when i have the time, that is. but that doesn't stop me from getting all the DIY mags.. i think they have many neat tricks.. provided you have the time.. and actually could get some of the things they needed. being in lumut... susahla cket kan.. hee.

one of it was a garden container box. i was thinking, there is no way i could a wooden crate these days.. until, CNY came.. and i was not around.. of course. tapi kalau wa ada pun.. bukan dorang bagik limau tu kat wa.. lalu tepi telinga je la. kroni. anyhoos.. when i came back from my long leave.. there was a wooden crate (for the mandarin oranges) lying around (yes, they are lazy - ass - man - i - pity - their - wife/wives).

so i took it back.. sand paper it.. and spray paint it (note to self.. paint is better than spray.. dah la susah nak dapat an even coat... time consuming gile!!) red.

can anyone tell me what flower is this? it looked just like a mini hydrangea.. but with leaves that shows that it is not a hydrangeas.. *hee* the red one has yet to bloom..but it is my fav right now (after my japanese roses la)

after many days of self internalizing.. and shutting ourselves out.. i've decided to get up on my feet & head to my long abandoned garden. plus, we got pots and pots of flowers (including planted by Mak) brought home from Kluang.

little do we know, in Kluang, the chinese bought chrisanthemum for CNY, instead of those little bamboo plants, like here in Lumut. and there were sooo nice... and soo easy to care for. so far la kan.. sebab hidup lagi. my mak long told me they wont reflower (such words? tak kisah aaa) again after this.. huh. so much for enthusiasm.

of course, i got myself a pot of daisy.. which i love. but have failed before. at my aunty's place, mak has succesfull planted daisies right out in the garden.. under the blazing sun. the new one.. did not survive long too. i dunno what went wrong. it was even under the shades. i think it was my very gatal hands.. who got em new sprayed on fertilizers that were suppose to make my hydrangeas bloom.. but i got uber excited and sprayed on all existing plants on my garden *LOL* some worked.. some.. my daisy.. don't *sob*

if anyone knows how to grow daisy.. do drop me a line.. and how the hell do i make my hydrangeas (orang johor panggil bunga zaleha) bloom??!! at my parent's, out of 5.. only 1 bloom. the rest were huge leaves..

so this is one super kewl thing i got for our media room, in Giant Kluang. don't ask why.. but Giant sini just don't have this super kewl shelf.. with a sliding front. see.. kewl innit??

after much persuasion.. abah finally gave in & gives an OK for me to log in back to lumut in the bat mobile.

since the instruction was in Japanese.. it is only natural that abah set it up. no, he doesn't read Nihon.. but hei.. better him then me *LOL*

no.. no.. m not there yet. i was just bored. and depressed. with the thought of my grandmother ( she is recuperating well, i heard and the operation will go as scheduled) as well as the thought of going back to work after a month of sabatical (probably the longest leave i've taken in 6 years!).. i turn to my little garden to chill.

after 4 days of unattended days (the rain didn't seem to help much), the new periwinkle did not survive. now i only have 1 pot left .. huuhuuu i hate! the japanese roses were blooming, on the other hand. i know vow to only plant those. hee!

i remembered when i was 10.. you know back in those days where every class has to outdo the other class by revamping the classrooms.. and landscapes? well.. i was the one who stole my dad's japs roses & plant them.. and it grew by the shrubs!!! and we won.. ofcourse.

back to the future (of course).. i no longer have the green hands (fingers?). so today i put on my gloves and replant a few japs roses.abah said.. cut & plant..we'll see how it goes..

as for now.. these photos are pretty cool innit? yes.. that is my mushroom..

p/s : i found a few mushrooms making their grand entrance at the garden. hee. but i didn't get to take its photos as abah was quick on the spade to make way for the roses mak gave me.

after weeks of staring at empty walls & nothing but pipes floors, my prime project finally paid off. i know i should be a better blogger by blogging of things other then, well, wedding & home decor.. but hei.. its my freakin blog.. *LOL*

anyways..

finally the bathroom project is complete. and i've been going to the mushroom pad to spruce it up. bagai dirasuk setan i've been filling it up with tiny2 things.. mind you.. these tiny things (umpan untuk roaches & cicak.. air freshner) .. its list is endless!

i am elated. no words or any photobucket photos can describe how i feel.

all i can say is... all the hard work since April has been worth it. every sweat, tears, migrain, and of late.. flu & phlegm *LOL*.

many said i was crazy to proceed with it in the first place. with the wedding and all... i'd definitely lost it. well.. i did. at some point. but nothing crazy passion cant fix.

our hard earned cash was well spent. i can't wait to share it w/ my favourite people.

but the best part of it all was when caveman told me ..

"great job babe..success gile!"

under the weather

its already been 2 days since m off work. the flu bug got me. got me bad. got me real bad. its the whole package thing.. flu, fever & cough. and i still get called to make some decisions on the mushroom pad. arghhhhh!!! cant a lady get a f**ckinnn rest??!?!

as a result of going through things under medication... my super kewl fan for the dining & living hall came in 2 different colour. yes, 2. 1 black.. 1 copper. and the shop wouldnt take it back (i bought them from 2 different shop). so yes.. my hall is not only divided for its purpose.. but also colour. sigh...

my head is throbbing from the flu.. anyone has any remedy?? and the phlegm.. arghh... it just wouldnt go away....

trust me.. getting a home aint funny. i dunno how my parents did it back then.. but m sure it wasn't as stressful as what we went through now. my parents, being very simple minded.. had everything done on a very laid back mode. abah's favourite colour was green.. so he painted it all green. mama doesn't like.. but she bear w/ it for over 15 years *LOL* we kids? couldn't give a damn. it was the coolest house ever. with our big green fish pond.


it started with the hunt. MMS to caveman became a routine. imagine picking a house via MMS?? finally found 1 i like.. at a price i like.. but it was green. my childhood flashed infront of me. but hei.. it doesnt have to be green this time, right? hence.. then name mushroom pad *LOL*


i tell ya.. no matter how much you want to help a friend.. don't. when it comes to work that it. especially when you need the work done super fast. especially when it comes to money. especially when you a banker yourself *grin* that was my first mistake. it was really stressful teaching someone about his job. i could've done it myself, if only m not doing it for myself.

next... get a really good solicitor. good means wicked time frame & cheap. yes, they do exist.

next.. find a contractor. this was a 50-50. good as he was abah's long time friend. bad when he took it for granted and the renovation busted its time frame. he took his own sweet time on it. long enough for caveman to come home to wires all over the ceiling & nothing else was done, 3 months after he first started his job. 3. i kid you not.

here's why internal decorators costs a bomb : they take away your pain *LOL*

Lighting. Or, penataan cahaya as my caveman refers it to (i kid you not). never have i thought it would be stressful. lamps, right? ceiling? pendant? chandeliers? down lights? wall? safety? energy saving? and.. please decide & buy before your plaster ceiling man and wiring man does his work. trust me, its worth doing things before hand.

next.. fixtures. the renovation on the bathroom was supposed to be the easiest. its a loo, right? wrong! i go around with the house plan & measuring tape, and plan, plan, plan. lucky me the tokey kedai bilik ayor was super kind & helped me plan it.

The Loo of the La La Land.. from a 3 x 7 ft to a 7 x 7 ft mini spa (i was told that fish from fish spa is RM3 sekor.. anyone? hehe). i haven't got the latest photo of it, as the one in my HP camera is pretty bad.







paint. have it my way i'd have it all in the shades of white. aaaa.. white, easy you say.. wrong! there are probably 1,000 types of white.. same as there are 1,000 shades of brown. caveman's favourite colour. yes, he's very domesticated.

hmm.. what else.. aaa the outdoors. caveman, being very domesticated.. wanted it all brown & green (green as in w/ plants). sigh. from 1 gate to no change of gate.. to pasang cable dulu.. to change gate again.. to 2 gates..eh, 1 gate.. eh no.. we need 2 sliding auto gate. i want wood but not wood. stressful? only a weee bit of migraine starts kicking in. nothing ayam goreng McD cant fix *wink*


by now the house plan has been xeroxed probably a thousand times. and distributed to the contractor la.. orang tukang cat la.. orang lampu la.. orang wiring la.. orang pasang aircond la.. helpful indeed. so peeps, always have 1 ready.

currently, it has been repainted. today we'll be sending over all the electrical appliances, including the lamps. yey!! tapi tu la.. part paling tak best.. the clean up session would be during ramadhan.. *sob sob*
