out in the woods..

after reading yaya's entry on auf's day out.. i thought to myself.. oh yea.. hannah has never touched the dirty soil of our garden.. what more grass (or in our case.. pegaga.. rumput sume mati).

so she was a bit bored today.. and i didn't want to take her out .. (my back needs a rest..hehe) .. so i took her out on her bumbo to our garden instead. eversince i got pregnant.. i have been neglecting my garden.. and as a result.. it turned into a garden, that i didn't like. plants that i didn't like.. pots that i didn't like (i mean.. 20.. in a row? seriously?). so now that hannah is a biiittttt bigger.. i finally have the chance to redo our garden. in bits & pieces.

i have totally flipped the garden from an ala2 english garden (roses, hydrangeas.. what nots) to a tropical garden. since greens are less mean then roses.. so greens it is!

and the pegaga.. umm.. the grass were badly affected by the draught a couple of months ago (before we did the awning).. and at about the same time.. no one had the time to water the entire garden. so it died.. and the pegaga invaded the space. currently m defertilizing the soil & slowly i could see some grass again. yey.

hopefully by the time auf gets his tiny butt in lumut.. the garden is much better.. so we can bumbo bumbo both auf & hannah (weirdly.. the whole day hannah was going auf auf..auf auf hahahah)..

obsessions..

sunflower Pictures, Images and Photos

ok.. now i know m nuts..

when i was a kid.. my mom (and her besties of Tmn Hijau) grew lots of flowers. petunias, hydrangeas and another favourite of the kids.. the sunflower. arwah aunty leha had a hugeee one in her garden.. which was scary as it stood there, its black middle staring at us. but i loved it nevertheless.

last week.. i was at this mini supermarket.. and saw a pack of sunflower seeds. i was excited to see it & brought it home.. to a more excited mama. she was like "ooo ni la palingg senanggg!!" *LOL* my dad was already imagining them protruding out of my gate, teehee..

within days.. my sunflowers of 8 have been growing on a seriously fast turnaround time. even kak ila loved it as her late mother also loved sunflower & had tons of them in her garden.

so if anyone know where i can get those giant sunflowers seeeds .. do let me know (on ebay its pretty pricey cos its not from here)..

korang sok jangan tak jupe pagar umah guaa.... hahaha!

success!! success!!

m an avid DIYer.. just like my dad. when i have the time, that is. but that doesn't stop me from getting all the DIY mags.. i think they have many neat tricks.. provided you have the time.. and actually could get some of the things they needed. being in lumut... susahla cket kan.. hee.

one of it was a garden container box. i was thinking, there is no way i could a wooden crate these days.. until, CNY came.. and i was not around.. of course. tapi kalau wa ada pun.. bukan dorang bagik limau tu kat wa.. lalu tepi telinga je la. kroni. anyhoos.. when i came back from my long leave.. there was a wooden crate (for the mandarin oranges) lying around (yes, they are lazy - ass - man - i - pity - their - wife/wives).

jengjengjeng!! (light bulb!! light bulb!!)

so i took it back.. sand paper it.. and spray paint it (note to self.. paint is better than spray.. dah la susah nak dapat an even coat... time consuming gile!!) red.

the result... :

the before

the mess

the process

the big idea

the big picture

can anyone tell me what flower is this? it looked just like a mini hydrangea.. but with leaves that shows that it is not a hydrangeas.. *hee* the red one has yet to bloom..but it is my fav right now (after my japanese roses la)

on a brighter note.. finally..!

*note : i like cats when they are made of batu LOL*

after many days of self internalizing.. and shutting ourselves out.. i've decided to get up on my feet & head to my long abandoned garden. plus, we got pots and pots of flowers (including planted by Mak) brought home from Kluang.

little do we know, in Kluang, the chinese bought chrisanthemum for CNY, instead of those little bamboo plants, like here in Lumut. and there were sooo nice... and soo easy to care for. so far la kan.. sebab hidup lagi. my mak long told me they wont reflower (such words? tak kisah aaa) again after this.. huh. so much for enthusiasm.

of course, i got myself a pot of daisy.. which i love. but have failed before. at my aunty's place, mak has succesfull planted daisies right out in the garden.. under the blazing sun. the new one.. did not survive long too. i dunno what went wrong. it was even under the shades. i think it was my very gatal hands.. who got em new sprayed on fertilizers that were suppose to make my hydrangeas bloom.. but i got uber excited and sprayed on all existing plants on my garden *LOL* some worked.. some.. my daisy.. don't *sob*

if anyone knows how to grow daisy.. do drop me a line.. and how the hell do i make my hydrangeas (orang johor panggil bunga zaleha) bloom??!! at my parent's, out of 5.. only 1 bloom. the rest were huge leaves..

the rose planted by mak..

my dying daisies.. helpppp!! the bigger one were falling out.. the small ones are neither here nor there.. but the little buds.. aaa .. i see some hope.. *LOL*

my pet projects.. you know those tiny packets of seed sold at +/-RM2?? these are it..

grow baby groww!!

roses yang belum transfer...
