piket piket lagi

lately there have been a lot of picketing around. some w/ racist connotations.. some slamming against a Bank.

yesterday, w/ out newpaper.. came a flyer w/ a huge tagline of the bank being a robber, complete w/ the Bank's corporate colour. it also consisted facts and figures on the ATM charges of the Bank, comparing it w/ a few other banks. the issue :the bank not only robs the staff, but its customers as well.

sigh...

to me.. if given a choice.. i would've terminated all of these clerks. yes peeps.. they are all clerical staffs of the Bank. a lot of people have been coming up to me asking, how come i didnt join the picket.. or why is the Bank not paying their staff bonuses.

what these picketers (such word?) did not mention is that.. this fight is actually between their union (NUBE) and the Bank. the issue is.. the Bank WILL pay their annual bonuses.. subject to an assessment. fair la kan? i think everyone goes through the same thing. but these people objected to it.. saying they deserve their contractual annual 2 months bonus. so they go on strike. oh, did i mention, prior to this, the won the deal on the 30% increment on their annual wage? we officers and managers get what.. erm.. 7%. yea.. fairrr...

what started in the 1st place as a "standing up for my right" stuff.. turned nasty. a couple of weeks ago.. a branch in penang was left deserted by all their clerical staff.. on the basis of going to the clinic. they never did. a branch in selangor was raided by their own staff. picketing in their banking hall.

i mean .. please tell me which employee were not assessed for their bonuses? sure the Bank make tons of money.. the question is.. are you contributing to it? if you think you are.. take the assessment. i dont think the clerical assesment is even difficult. unlike us whom life&death are on figures and figures alone.

sure the bank makes tons of money.. question is.. u r not the only 800 people who work in em.

i did really give a hoot about this earlier.. but i dont think its right to go around saying the bank robs its staff of its benefits.. or causing disruptions at the work place. they did get 30% increment. thats a whole lot of money. and for some senior clerical staffs.. they are making more than some of our junior officers.

i say.. terminate em. they are tons of unemployed graduates around. they're much cheaper and there are many to go around with.

i think some people are just not grateful for what they have. sama la dengan hindraf tu. die tak tau ke kat india tu.. people are breeding like mouse w/ not enough to feed everyone..

i hope people will realise and be a more responsible adults. pasni boleh la ajar anak2 piket depan sekolah, kalau tak suka kena bawak beg berat2 gi sekolah.
