pen pals...

yummy mummy.. remember the days when we were competing on how many letters we get per week by our pen pals? hehehe! i was going through my stuff.. to turn my single pad a couple crib. and were reorganizing and trashing things. i came across a box of letters.. and yep.. they were my pen pals letters. of course, mainly it was from Laura, my pen pal from Ohio.. whom i've known since i was 12. reading her letters made me laugh.. it made me realise how far we've come. how innocent we were. i still have a whole album w/ just her photographs in em. i guess we kinda drifted apart when we went to uni. and after that she's all over the places w/ her volunteering work and all..but i would occasionally hear from her. today i've received an email from her. currently working Bridging Refugee Youth and Children’s Services (BRYCS) is a program addressing issues faced by refugee youth and children in adjusting to life in the United States. i have always admired what she does. she has been working w/ children since day 1 of college. and still hearing from her today made me feel like m in school again.. *grin*

to Laura, if you're reading this.. you still owe me the Asian trip! ;)
